About Faraak
Forty Years on the Factory Floor
Our family set up the unit in Karachi in 1986 with a handful of machines and one product: girls' frocks. Anyone in the garment trade will tell you frocks are not an easy place to start. A frock has gathers, frills, piping, a lining, sometimes smocking, and it is sewn in small sizes where every mistake shows. We learned the trade on the hardest product first.
That choice shaped everything after it. A unit that can finish a frock cleanly can handle most garments. Over the years we added t-shirts and basic knits, and we produced hospital bed sheets and ward linen for institutional buyers. Different products, same habits: cut accurately, stitch cleanly, check everything, ship on time.
The market has not always been kind. Karachi's garment trade has been through currency shocks, energy crises, and more than one bad year. Most units from our era are gone. We are still stitching, and that is not luck. It is forty years of not promising what we cannot deliver.
Today Asad Ali Khatri runs Faraak with a team of machinists, cutters, and checkers, some of whom have been with us for many years. We are not the biggest factory in Karachi. We are one of the most experienced. That difference shows up in your garments.
